Our Trustees

Treasurer and Interim Chair of Trustees
Steven Irvine-Duffy: U.K. (He/Him)
Born in the United Kingdom and living at home with his partner and two children, Steven has worked in and across the private and third sectors for nearly 18 years. He has held the position of Finance Director for the North East biggest LGBTQ+ Pride Festival for 10 years where he added strategic value in growing the festival from 2,000 people to 73,000 people. In 2011, Steven founded Newcastle Frontrunners which is the regions only LGBTQ+ running club. Steven joined ReportOUT in 2022 as our Treasurer, after successfully growing his portfolio of companies to a self sustaining level. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in strategy, finance, fundraising, income generation and charity governance. In his spare time he is a keen runner and he enjoys the scenic area of the Lake District. He describes himself as a cisgendered gay man.

Portfolio for Sustainability and Climate Change
Louis Chan: Singapore (He/Him)
Born in Singapore, Louis is a Trustee with Portfolio for Sustainability and Climate Change. Louis works within the sustainability sector, with an aim to have a positive impact on the world, in both his personal and professional life. Having always had a love and genuine concern for nature and the health of the natural world, sustainability was a natural pull for him. In this space, he strongly believes in forging innovative solutions and creating a win-win partnership for various stakeholders. In addition, he is a firm believer in contributing to society and helping marginalised groups. Louis enjoys Muay Thai, Boxing, and heading to the gym. He describes himself as heterosexual and as a cisgender male.

Portfolio for Human Rights Research
Phil Thomas: U.K. (He/Him)
Phil became a Trustee of ReportOUT with a responsibility for the Research portfolio. He is passionate about geopolitics and LGBTQI+ histories around the globe, and has undertaken research for ReportOUT on a diverse range of countries including Mongolia, Afghanistan, and Ukraine. Phil holds a Masters in International Relations from University of Cambridge (UK), MBA from Duke University (USA), and a BA in Modern Languages from University of Durham (UK) together with professional marketing and project management qualifications. He currently resides in Cambridge, having previously lived and worked on four different continents, with his passion for travel and discovering new cultures continuing to this day. Alongside his role at ReportOUT and day job in the City of London, Phil is a huge sports fan (Spurs, Carolina Panthers, Team GB) and he enjoys hiking and reading non-fiction books.

Portfolio for Southern African States
Lorato Botshabelo: Botswana (She/Her)
Born and raised in Botswana, Lorato is a Trustee with both an Administration and EDI portfolio. She has 3+ years of relevant experience working as a mentor and skills for life facilitator delivering the life skills advanced curriculum and economic strengthening sessions to adolescent girls and young women in Botswana. Lorato brings her teaching and training on equality, diversity and inclusion to ReportOUT. She has a Teaching English as a Foreign Language certificate, a Certificate in Exercising Leadership: Foundational Principles by HarvardX and she is currently a Chartered Institute of Management Accounting student. Lorato has always served as a LGBTQI+ ally, fighting for the inclusion of lesbians in one of the programs she was working under, by promoting the use of gender neutral language. She strongly advocates for the mental health of the LGBTQI+ community and in her advocacy, she uses art therapy to promote mental health. She describes herself as heterosexual.

Portfolio for Europe (Southern Mediterranean)
Jaba Kaplanishvili: Greece and Georgia (He/Him)
Jaba serves as a Trustee for ReportOUT, responsible for the organization's South European portfolio. He specialises in homelessness support and immigration law. His expertise in advocating for vulnerable clients is a result of his extensive experience in various organizations, where he worked in the development of various programmes and also provided front-line work, such as essential housing or homelessness advocacy and immigration advice, backed by his OISC Level 1 accreditation. Jaba's passion lies in working with refugees and individuals with intersectional identities, such as SOGI (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity) refugees and this aligns harmoniously with his academic interests and areas of expertise. He firmly believes in the importance of intersectionality and strives to ensure that the right support is available for those in need. Jaba's academic journey includes an outstanding Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Law from the University of Westminster, where he graduated with distinction. His educational foundation began with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International and European Studies from the University of Macedonia in Greece.

Portfolio for Gender Equity and MEAL
Jodie Weatherston: U.K. (She/Her)
Jodie is a lecturer, academic, and social researcher with a passion for human rights, international development and gender based violence. She has over 7 years of experience working in the Third Sector and has taken on a range of roles including, conference planning, volunteer management, lead researcher and training facilitator. Jodie has a degree in BSc (Hons) Social Sciences: Sociology, and an MSc International Development. She has conducted research around the globe in relation to gender, international development and human rights, and she has volunteered in Kenya, and Nepal on gender and human rights projects. In her spare time, Jodie enjoys travel, culture, cuisine and dance. She identifies as a heterosexual, cisgender female.

Portfolio for Francophone Countries
Nyume Blaise: Cameroon and U.K. (He/Him)
Born in Cameroon and now living and studying in the U.K. Nyume is a General Trustee of ReportOUT. He has a BSc degree in banking and finance, an MBA, and he is currently a DBA student in the U.K.. He is an LGBTQI+ activist. He enjoys empowering other people, and encouraging them to be the best versions of themselves. He is also a fashion lover and model.
Portfolio for Media and Public Relations
Sarah Bosnyak: U.K. (She/Her)
A keen writer and activist, Sarah brings a wealth of experience in public relations, communication and media to ReportOUT. Having worked across public and private sector communications for more than seven years after graduating with a degree in the field from Northumbria University, Sarah is focused on utilising her skills to make a positive impact on the world. Residing in the North East of England, Sarah is currently working with public and private sector organisations to make the North East a safe, accessible and inclusive destination, and hopes to extend these learnings and practices around the globe as a proud advocate for LGBTQIA+ people. Outside of working life, Sarah regularly practices and studies yoga and is an eager surfer, runner and horticulturist.

Portfolio for Education and Training
Jon Biggs: U.K. (He/Him)
British-born Jon is one of the Trustees with Portfolio for Education and Training. His career has included working in science (ultimately achieving a PhD in Pharmaceutical Science), students' unions (as both a student activist and then a member of staff), and international higher education (having worked with academic partners from over 25 countries). He also recently completed an MBA in Leadership. He currently works for a university, where he leads the global engagement activities within an academic department, including the development of online international experiences for students. He brings his academic background in staff and volunteer development to ReportOUT. He lives in the U.K. with his husband and two dogs, he enjoys reading and watching science-fiction.

Dr Harvey Kennedy-Pitt: U.K. (He/Him)
Dr Harvey Kennedy-Pitt is a global public health consultant, health equity strategist, and scholar-advocate focused on advancing health equity for raciosexual and gender minorities. With expertise in research, policy, and practice, he develops inclusive health interventions, fosters sustainable solutions, and drives systemic change to dismantle barriers to better health worldwide. Working at the intersection of research, policy, and practice, Harvey has led and managed diverse initiatives addressing LGBTQ+ health, HIV, and health equity at community, local government, and country level. He brings a wealth of experience in fostering sustainable, culturally responsive solutions for marginalised communities.
